Good health decisions start with good information
Most people don't have easy access to clear, reliable answers about their own health numbers. Calculators online are often cluttered with ads, hide their methods, or quietly harvest the personal details you type in. We built HealthyLifeStyles to be the opposite: clean, transparent, and genuinely private.
Our goal is simple — help you understand your body and your habits a little better, using methods you can verify, without asking for anything in return. Whether you're tracking a weight goal, dialing in your nutrition, training for a race, or just curious, the right tool should be one click away and free to use.
Our values
Four principles guide every tool and every line of content we publish.
-
Science first
Every calculator is built on established, peer-reviewed formulas — Mifflin-St Jeor for metabolism, the U.S. Navy method for body fat, and similar validated equations. We cite the source on each tool page.
-
Privacy by design
Many calculations run in your browser. Recipe analysis and result-image downloads send data to a server; HRV, food diary, and Health Score features save data locally. See our privacy policy.
-
Free and accessible
No paywalls, no subscriptions, no signup. Every tool supports both metric and imperial units so it works for people in the US, UK, Canada, Australia and beyond.
-
Clear and honest
We explain what each result means in plain English, show the formula behind it, and are upfront that our tools are for education and wellness — never a medical diagnosis.
From research to result, in three steps
- 1
We start with the evidence
Each tool implements a published, peer-reviewed formula. We document the equation and link the original research so you can check our work.
- 2
You enter your numbers privately
Many calculations run in your browser. Server-assisted features and locally saved readings have different privacy implications. Read our privacy policy before using them.
- 3
You get a clear, useful answer
We translate the math into plain-English guidance, with context on what your result means and what to consider next.
A note on medical advice. HealthyLifeStyles provides general educational and wellness information only. Our tools are not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider about your health. Read our full medical disclaimer.
How we create and check our content
Our content team writes calculator explainers and articles using published methods and sources such as the WHO, CDC, American Heart Association, and primary research where relevant. We cite sources so you can inspect the methods. We do not currently display clinical-review attribution without a verified individual review.
